For a long time, Ben Tre has been synonymous with the image of lush green coconut trees lining the gentle riverbanks. This connection is so strong that the name “green coconut capital” has become inseparable from Ben Tre. The coconuts from this region are known for their thick flesh and sweet, refreshing water—qualities that are hard to find elsewhere. These coconuts are among the most precious products of the water region, serving as indispensable ingredients in countless delicious dishes that leave a lasting impression after just one taste.
Ben Tre is the “green coconut capital,” boasting the highest concentration of coconut groves in the country. The province alone is home to 72,000 hectares of coconut groves. Products derived from coconuts account for approximately 20% of industrial production value and 25% of export value, playing a crucial role in both production and daily life.
In Ben Tre, the coconut-growing areas linked with Mova Plus cover 60 hectares, with the potential to expand by 50% annually, producing over 2,160 coconuts.
